Welcome back to DIY Friday, where I highlight two do-it-yourself projects from around the blog world. I am a little apprehensive when it comes to DIY projects as I have always thought of them as complicated and hard to do. That is why I have been selecting simple projects that would inspire me (and hopefully you) to try our hands at creating amazing home decor. Ever since I started this column, I have been inspired to try my own projects. For example, I was so inspired by stenciling that I created my own in Stencil Design Art. So, trust me when I say: If I can do it, you can do it too.
My two choices for this week look really simple. The first one is from Kristi from Addicted 2 Decorating. Can you guess what she created?
Paint Chip Artwork! Imagine the variety of artwork you can come up with when you build on this idea. She selected a monochromatic color scheme (shades of a single hue) in each frame. You can choose to select different color schemes to match your home colors. Just imagine where you can go with this simple idea. Thanks Kristi
The second Project is as simple, and it involves wall art as well. It comes from Shelley from The House of Smiths .
She created her own Vinyl decal but did not include the instructions.I have seen vinyl decals in Jo Ann Fabric if you prefer to buy them. However, If you are interested in learning how to create your own, then here is an example from eHow.
Simple, Elegant and Unique ideas for artwork. Why didn’t I think of that ! 🙂
Until Next Time~
